The pride I get from a piece like this is when I achieve something beyond my hopes in the process. In that case, I managed to represent a very realistic gorilla with no reference whatsoever. I wanted to stay away from my phone and its internet connection and so it started as a little game, and I kept going as I was succesful in keeping the great foundation of my initial drawing. Bone structure, lifelike expression... and textures. It's not everyday I get that lucky. I guess that was my stroke of luck in Vegas...

The expression on her face is absolute perfection. Love the detail on the gorilla. Amazing, especially since the was no reference.
