Hi there,

Those of you who were at the show in Charlotte know what a treat this one is, for both artists and fans alike! I've heard some complaints on the internet, about professionals not making enough money this year, and frankly, I am not part of those who do it for that. I do it to meet people. New faces, old friends, new friends... drawing books is a business. you buy a copy to get entertained, but you buy it in the first place, and it keeps the business going, more or less. These shows are more an opportunity to meet with the creative temas behind those books and share our mutual passion for the medium, for the stories and concepts that have been a part in our formative years, and beyond it, that keep on entertaining the kid in us.

There are many other ways to make money and just that. but those gathering, where you share so much more, they are priceless.

Now back to work, to make some money.

Best,

S.

Hi Guys,

Some changes ahead... Slowly, not letting go of what the fans know me for, certainly not... but a change for 2013 and forward, for sure.

A new sketchbook is in the works. It'll be ready for C2E2. And a few more changes in where to find my work and how to commission art from me.

Keep an eye on this page, guys. And the tweets. And Instagram... Just sayin'.

I have been experimenting lately, with going back to acrylics, watercolors, pencils and pastels.

I am not quitting on using Digital coloring, though. I'll be able to show more new stuff soon.

Best,

S.

I can finally show the covers for the Boom Studios title I have been working on for some time now!

SUPURBIA! or as I like to call it ... Desperate Superhero Housewives!

It is lots of fun! These covers and the other title I am doing covers on, for Boom again. Freelancers. I was kept busy with a few Star Wars Agent of the Empire: Hard Targets!
and those two.

There is also a few other things I have been doing for DC, Phantom Lady and Doll man covers, after Amanda Conner's awesome first! and a couple of assignments I am not at leisure to talk about just now. But of course, I'll keep you posted as soon as I can!

Shawusomshitsoon!

Hi all,

Heroescon in a few days and a bunch of other conventions this summer...

For years now people have been commenting on the fact that my commissions where usually worth more than the price I had them at. I understand it is an investment to a lot of people and a lot of greenbacks to pull out for anyone these days. But I am aware more and more that the quality is here, nevertheless. So I decided to upgrade the rates for con sketches, and commissions in general. I always dedicate my best skills for those, art collectors and fans alike have vouched for it over the years, so I thought it wouldn't seem awkward to do this after two years without upraising prices on my original art.

This Preamble being done. Here is the new price rate for con sketches:

- 11X14  "Con sketch type" bust -Brush pen strathmore is $150

- 11X14  "Con sketch type" bust - pen and greytone markers on strathmore is $250

- 11X14 " con sketch type " full figure black and white pen on strathmore is $350

- 11X14  "Con sketch type" full figure commission - pen and greytone markers on white Strathmore - is $550

I take the opportunity to remind anyone interested being on a list at conventions: the list for requests starts first hour of the show, first day of the show. NO pre-registering on a list.

Feel free to drop by and get your original con sketch!

Best and see you soon at C2E2!

Hi all,

Major update and information on this entry. Issue # 5 is under completion as I type and it was extremely sastisfying to work on it! That final chapter in particular, had everything an star wars artist can hope for: favorite classic trilogy characters, action, sexy girl, action, spaceships, cloud city, action, droids... Did I mention action? Cataclysmic action!!!

Getting to the end of this story arc and after going thru the validation process by the owner of the license, I can officially say some of the covers are available for purchase. For those interested, please inquire at frenchbulldogstudio@hotmail.com

there is a special folder here to get a quick look at what the original art looks like, so please feel free to take the tour.

On that note, I am going to put the final touches to the pages, get back to a short but fun assigniment - images soon - and maybe work on some promotional art for the TPB on that Agent of The Empire book.

Best,

Hi guys,

As I said, Issue #2 is  behind. I won't be on # 3 ans 4, bit will conclude the arc with issue # 5. It's another Stephane who is doing those, and he's delivering a great job!

I managed to sneak in a few comissions in between assignments, therefore catching up on my list. It's going well under way.

I'll be spending the holidays in France, with Family and friends! Can't wait to do that!

Thank you again for all the comments on my art, to all the fans during all this year. I hope I'll keep you interested in the year to come and that you'll keep following my work on covers and interiors!

May the force be with you!

Hi all,

The Star Wars book keeps me really busy, to the point I can barely find time for commissions, or updates here... or anywhere else, for that matter!

Simply know that I have a new blog that keeps updates on the book I am working on. It's called the French Wookiee Blog. How NOT surprising, right?

Here is the thefrenchwookiee.blogspot.com/

And I though I might as well post here the first cover, too. You'll find more extras on the blog though, work in progress, sketches designs... everything I need to figure out to mae this book look great!

It is right up my favorite period of time in the Star Wars Saga: around a New Hope and beyond. Love the 70's look to things, clothes,  ship designs... that lkinda stuff. Trying to inject it in the book. Hope it'll work.

The book will hit shelves in December.

And on that  note, back to the drawing table!

Best,

S.

To everyone who wished me here a happy Bday! Being away from home could have made it hard but getting all this messages warmed my heart. Thank you!

It was a busy day, working on the Star Wars title, Agent of the Empire, coming at in December! Can't show anything right now, but the happy few who've seen something seem to like it. Fingers crossed. Only when I am not drawing!

Anyhoo, thanks again, to all of you guys, you are awesome!
