Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Hi All, Chicago is behind us and already, Boston is on the horizon... Yes, that's right, I'll be attending [link]

In the meantime, I am still taking home commissions, and still NOT making a pre-list for any upcoming cons, so don(t ask!

Same ole speech below regarding rates for the different types of commissions...

Price varies according to specifics, so here is a short reminder.

Also note the difference of denomination between sketches and commissions.

Stephane makes sure everything he posts on his Deviant Art page , or on the CAF, is tagged accordingly to what was commissioned.

- 11X14 "Con sketch type" commission - pen and greytone markers on white Strathmore vellum 100lb - is $350 ( see this Magdalena sketch for reference )

- 12 X 18 "Con sketches type" commission - on Strathmore tonal paper, inks and greytone markers - range from $600 to $900. ( Enchantress or Star Sapphire )

- 14X17 pre-done home commissions - pen and greytone markers on white Strathmore vellum 100lb - like this BlackCat are $1200.

- 12 X 18 pre-done commissions - on Strathmore tonal paper - for one character w/background is $1500 minimum. ( Magdalena, Vampirella, Red Sonja )

- For group of characters and/or painted commissions special price apply . Please feel free to inquire about this, giving as much details as to what you'd like in terms of format, technique ( watercolor, acrylics, pastels... )
